**Job Title:** Specialist Guidance and Support Leader
About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled professional to lead our specialist guidance and support team. The successful candidate will provide expert advice on practice in working with Aboriginal children, young people, parents, and carers.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide specialist advice and management on culturally appropriate practices.
- Support the implementation of evidence-informed approaches into practice.
- Encourage collaborative and accountable case management that respects the culture and circumstances of each child, young person, family, carers, and partner agencies.
- Implement professional development opportunities for team members.
Requirements:
- Must identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander decent and have an understanding of the issues impacting Aboriginal people and their wellbeing.
- Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Social Science, Early Education, or similar (equivalent experience considered).
- Demonstrated ability to use a culturally appropriate approach in implementing intervention models, creating opportunities, empowering, and promoting the wellbeing of young people through engagement of families and carers.
- Strong interpersonal skills that provide the basis for effective negotiation, mediation, and conflict resolution practices and outcomes.
- A non-judgmental and empathetic approach to engaging and working with young people and their families, ability to develop rapport with carers, child/young people, and community.
