Manufacturing Specialist

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company that's revolutionizing the way military systems are designed, built, and sold. We're seeking a skilled Manufacturing Technician to join our team in Sydney, Australia, where you'll play a key role in delivering cutting-edge defense hardware for autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs).
As a Manufacturing Technician, you'll work closely with our engineering team to build complex electromechanical assemblies and integrate them into our world-class products. You'll be responsible for assembling metallic and composite structures, hydraulic systems, and machined parts, including COTS components. You'll also design, prototype, and scale manufacturing jigs and fixtures to improve build and test efficiency.
Key responsibilities include:
Working within a team of multidisciplinary engineers and specialists on assembly and integration efforts
Building, testing, and integrating electro-mechanical assemblies into our products
Assembling metallic and composite structures, hydraulic systems, and machined parts
Designing, prototyping, and scaling manufacturing jigs and fixtures to improve build and test efficiency
Contributing to all stages of the product development and manufacturing life cycle, providing feedback to the engineering team on improvement opportunities
Helping develop, document, and improve our workflows and documentation
Interacting with digital ERP system for work order tracking, inventory management, and quality reporting
Required qualifications include:
Solid experience in a manufacturing or service relevant field (automotive / marine, aerospace, industrial equipment)
Proficiency in interpreting technical documentation (mechanical drawings, work instructions, equipment schematics, electrical diagrams, etc.)
Familiarity with fabrication processes, hand tool use, and plastic / metal / composite part assembly
Commitment to a high-quality product and strong sense of personal accountability
Familiarity with building and maintaining electromechanical systems
Very well organized and detail-oriented
Excellent verbal & written communication skills
A sincere commitment to a positive, inclusive, and collaborative culture
Eligibility to obtain a NV1 security clearance (status not required at time of hire)
Preferred experience includes:
Experience in mechatronics and robotics (Drones, AUVs, autonomous equipment)
Proficiency with electrical debug and installation of software for testing
Machining and/or 3D printing experience
Prior experience working with JIRA, Teamcenter (PLM), or NetSuite (ERP) or equivalents
Experience with low volume / high mix manufacturing
