About This Opportunity

We have a hands-on role available for an experienced Small Engine Mechanic to join our Rutherford branch. In this position, you will work on a variety of John Deere Agricultural and Turf machinery, gaining valuable experience with cutting-edge equipment.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Detecting and diagnosing machine faults
  • Working on engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components, and checking parts
  • Repairing and replacing worn and defective parts and reassembling mechanical components, and referring to service manuals as needed
  • Performing scheduled maintenance and services in accordance with John Deere standards and procedures
  • Testing and adjusting mechanical parts after repair for proper performance
  • Diagnosing and testing parts with the assistance of computers
  • Document system information and repairs completed on work order, including parts used in our systems

You will also have the opportunity to work on a range of equipment, including ride-on mowers, gators, skid steers, and golf equipment.

To be successful in this role, you will need to bring the following skills and experience:

  • Small engine experience (essential)
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a team
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
