Job Summary

The College Counsellor role is a critical position within the Student Support Team at Belmont Christian College. As a key member, you will provide individual counselling and support students, their families, and staff.

This full-time position involves conducting clinical assessments, offering counselling services, and facilitating referrals with external stakeholders to ensure comprehensive student support.

Main Responsibilities
  • Deliver individualised counselling sessions to students
  • Contribute to wellbeing programs and initiatives
  • Clinical assessment and referral to relevant external services as needed

To excel in this role, you will possess:

  • A degree in Psychology, Counselling, or Social Work (desired)
  • Registration as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) OR
  • Maintenance of registration and/or membership with relevant professional associations (ACA, APACS, APACS NSW, PACFA)
  • Previous experience in school counselling, including writing and reporting
  • Knowledge of child safety protocols in an educational setting and commitment to ethical practice

We seek individuals who are committed Christians with active involvement in their local church and adherence to our Codes of Conduct and child safe policies.

This role operates 38 hours per week during term time (40 weeks) with 4 weeks paid annual leave during non-term time.
