Job Description

Vehicle Repair Technician

We are seeking a skilled and experienced vehicle repair technician to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for repairing and restoring vehicles to their pre-accident condition.

The ideal candidate will have a trade qualification in panel beating or a related field and extensive experience working on a variety of vehicle makes and models. You will possess strong communication skills, be able to work effectively as part of a team and meet strict deadlines.

In this role, you will be required to:

  • Inspect received parts for correctness and defects;
  • Disassemble vehicles as per job sheets;
  • Label and store parts;
  • Notify broken parts and extra repairs to estimators;
  • Check new parts for correctness and damage;
  • Mix and match vehicle colours after preparation and scheduling for painting;
  • Build and maintain colour libraries;
  • Prep, prime, and paint vehicles according to job sheet requirements;
  • Buff and denib vehicles;
  • Repair vehicles to OEM standards and estimate requirements;
  • Reassemble vehicles;
  • Handle all vehicles with due care and attention;
  • Clean work bays and workshop areas;
  • Coach apprentices when required;
  • Ensure company tools and equipment remain safe, clean, and in good working order;
  • Adhere to our OH&S policy, including PPE use.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • AQF Certificate III in Automotive Refinishing Technology or equivalent;
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in a similar role;
  • Strong commitment to working safely and responsibly;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • High attention to detail;
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of a team;
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines;
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a hardworking attitude;
  • Ownership of necessary tools to fulfill the role.
