Cloud Computing Specialist Role

The role of Cloud Computing Specialist involves designing, implementing and maintaining cloud-based systems to ensure the stability, security and efficiency of our cloud environment.

This specialist will be responsible for leveraging expertise in cloud services (Azure/AWS), infrastructure, server management and database administration.

Key responsibilities include project delivery, incident response, continuous improvement aligned with our cloud-first principle and Essential 8 recommendations.

Proficiency in virtualization, storage platforms and networking technologies is required to support the development of new features and services, as well as the resolution of system issues.

Desirable skills include knowledge and experience in cloud networking, automation and AI for Operations.

  • Cloud & System Administration: Managing MS Cloud services (Identity, Exchange, Teams, Intune, SharePoint etc.)
  • Cloud Networking: Participating in the design, deployment and maintenance of cloud network infrastructure
  • Technical Support & Projects: Providing technical guidance on cloud computing security requirements and supporting new technology implementations
  • Security & Compliance: Collaborating with IT Security to align SOE security hardening with PSPF, ISM, ACSC, CIS and DTA Protected pattern guidelines
  • Automation & Deployment: Developing and enhancing automated processes for reliable solution deployment
  • Device Evaluations & System Monitoring: Participating in ICT Operations device evaluations and ensuring applications and infrastructure perform efficiently
  • AI for Operations: Utilizing skills and experience to prepare ICT Operations for the continued adoption and utilisation of AI
