Process Design Leader for Mining and Metals Engineering

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in process plant design for base metals, with a proven track record of delivering successful studies and projects. Reporting to the Process Department Manager, you'll lead or collaborate with a highly experienced team, tackling a diverse range of domestic and international projects from concept development to operations.

The role involves supporting the process team on studies and projects, ensuring key process deliverables align with industry standards and best practices. You'll also coordinate with cross-functional teams, including engineering disciplines, procurement, construction, vendors, consultants, and client teams, to drive project success.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Contribute to the review and optimization of project design, cost, safety, constructability, and schedule.
  • Interface with global equipment suppliers to stay up-to-date with technological advancements.
  • Develop and maintain process design expertise, including process mass balances, process flow diagrams, and process support services.
  • Collaborate with the team to deliver projects that meet or exceed client expectations.

To succeed in this role, you'll require:

  • Tertiary qualification in mineral processing, chemical engineering, or metallurgical engineering.
  • At least 10 years of experience in process design, with a focus on base metals.
  • Strong understanding of process design principles, including mass and energy balances, process flow diagrams, and equipment sizing calculations.
  • Proven track record of delivering successful projects, with a focus on meeting deadlines and staying within budget.
