About the Role

As a Senior Experience Designer at WorkSafe Victoria, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth coordination and delivery of design projects. Your expertise will be instrumental in providing design leadership across multidisciplinary teams and within the design practice to ensure delivery of high-quality work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the delivery of numerous design initiatives, developing a deep understanding of project plans, intended strategic outcomes, and key deliverables.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance across a number of deliverables, undertaking regular meetings with stakeholders regarding deliverables, expectations, and potential risks and issues.
  • Provide design leadership as part of a multidisciplinary project team, coordinating designers and associate designers to deliver consistent design methodologies across projects that are of high quality and within agreed timeframes.
  • Develop and oversee engagement approaches, guiding and leading the design and facilitation of workshops with designers and associate designers, including bringing clarity to current state experiences and ensuring they are well understood and agreed by all relevant stakeholders through the creation of artefacts that capture complex systems, experiences, information architecture, and represent both quantitative and qualitative research results.
  • Lead the development of product strategies, road maps, experience prototypes, and user research plans that can deliver new services and products through iterating design based on desirability, viability, and feasibility.

About You

You will have demonstrated experience in coaching, mentoring, and upskilling people in Experience Design and Agile methods, advocating for design within an agile environment. You are motivated and capable of looking at problems through a user-centric lens. As the sole designer in your squad, you will have demonstrated your ability to work autonomously.

Your communication skills are excellent, and you have demonstrated your ability to liaise with all levels of an organisation, including executive. You will have an ability to think creatively, develop new and innovative ways of approaching problems/opportunities, and engage with various audiences. You will also possess proven ability to work with clients, leverage design methodologies to understand their needs and wants, experiment by leveraging concept testing tools and techniques to iterate potential solutions, and manage projects with a high level of ambiguity and support design and product teams through ambiguity to deliver positive outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary degree in either design, business, human sciences, engineering, or extensive relevant industry experience.
