About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to join a team dedicated to providing policy and project management support across an organisation. As a Policy and Project Officer, you will play a key role in contributing to the implementation of various projects and initiatives. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to meet project objectives.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and maintain relevant project documentation such as project plans, status reports, and high-quality briefings, reports and submissions for a range of audiences.
- Review, analyse and interpret recommendations from inquiries and legal policies to support the provision of accurate and strategic policy advice to stakeholders.
- Organise project-related meetings and workshops, and develop and maintain lessons management tools, processes and data.
- Support the organisation's continuous improvement approach through the development and implementation of policy projects.
- Keep up to date with new, emerging and current strategic issues and opportunities relating to policy reform and the broader emergency management reform environment.
To be successful in this role, you will be a customer-focused critical thinker who is able to develop and maintain strong working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders. You will have experience delivering complex projects within short timeframes.
Required Skills and Experience:- Strong attention to detail with the ability to prepare high quality, accurate and detailed documents, reports and correspondence for senior stakeholders.
- Proven ability to analyse and interpret data from various sources and provide strategic policy advice to senior stakeholders.
- Demonstrated understanding of the project lifecycle and project methodologies.
- Experience supporting policy reform or projects within the public sector (desirable).
- Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
