Job Title: Healthcare Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Specialist to provide medical care to prisoners. The ideal candidate will have the ability to deliver and evaluate medical programs and services, as well as coordinate hours of service and on-call responsibilities.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality medical care to prisoners, including delivering and evaluating medical programs and services.
  • Coordinate hours of service and on-call responsibilities with the Health Services Manager and the Director, Medical Services.
Requirements:
  • Be a medical practitioner currently registered by the relevant medical board in Australia.
  • Hold documentary evidence of medical indemnity insurance.
  • Have a minimum of 5 years post-graduate experience.
  • Demonstrate high written and verbal communication skills.
  • Show the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Demonstrate competence in providing high-quality care.
  • Show willingness to undertake regular professional development relevant to the position.
  • Have computer skills relevant to the role.
  • Have experience in mental health, drug and alcohol and emergency care (desired).
Work Environment:
  • Valid Australian driver's licence and the ability to travel between locations.
  • The ability to work within a prison setting, which will involve direct contact with people in prison associated with the delivery of healthcare.
  • Satisfactory completion of a National Criminal History Check.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
