Centre Technician - Ballarat

Proudly Australian, with over 45 years in the business, Pirtek specialises in fluid transfer solutions through mobile on-site service with replacement of hydraulic and industrial hose and fittings.


The Role Overview

This is a pivotal role that requires delivering high-quality customer service, working towards advancing to a more senior technical position.


You will be expected to maintain a clean and safe work environment, manage inventory and equipment, and attend to customer needs at the counter and via phone.


The successful candidate will have strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and a mechanical background or experience in a similar field.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Operational Support: Provide day-to-day assistance to the Hose Service Centre operations team
  • Tech Skill Development: Learn hose assembly procedures, machine/welding, and pipe-bending techniques
  • Customer Interaction: Respond to customer queries at the counter and via phone calls
  • Data Entry & Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records and stock levels
  • Transportation: Safely transport goods as required

About You

We are looking for someone with a passion for excellent customer service, good telephone manner, and strong communication skills. Your ability to follow instructions, carry out tasks efficiently, and work effectively within a team is crucial.


A mechanical background and/or experience in a similar industry would be advantageous. You must also hold a current Manual Driver's License, possess computer literacy, and display good literacy and numeracy skills.
