Education Support Role

This part-time role supports educational services for students, working under the supervision of teachers to perform tasks according to guidelines and school policy.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing routine support for teachers, including assisting with student planning and communication between teachers and parents.
  • Supporting teachers in coordinating educational programs independently or under minimal supervision.
  • Offering basic physical care and wellbeing support for students, such as toileting, meals, and lifting.
  • Communicating with students to support their understanding of basic tasks and information.
  • Addressing immediate behavioural presentations relating to specific students within a classroom setting, aligned with school policy and procedure.
  • Providing basic support and supervision for individuals or groups of up to 4 students within a classroom setting.
  • Supporting teachers in coordinating educational programs, including rostering and organizing the work of a team of aides, providing routine coordination, guidance, and support to other student support staff, liaising with external providers of support services about clearly defined support needs and resources, and assisting teachers with communicating student outcomes and educational programs.

Certification and/or qualifications of up to three years may be required at this level. However, note that Registered Nurse is not included at this level, with the first level being Level 1 range 3.
