Environmental Management Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Management Specialist to join our team.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking statutory assessment functions for mineral mining and downstream mineral mining projects across Queensland. This will include assessing and decision making around applications relating to environmental authorities, progressive rehabilitation and closure plans and estimated rehabilitation costs.

This role may involve travel to other locations, including overnight stays.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertake assessments and make decisions on applications related to environmental authorities;
  • Assess and review progressive rehabilitation and closure plans and estimated rehabilitation costs;
Requirements:
  • Relevant qualifications and experience in geology and/or geochemistry that can be applied to industrial and mining processes;
  • Understanding of matters such as mining waste management, storage and disposal;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
Working Conditions:

This role may be undertaken from our office locations at either Cairns, Townsville or Brisbane.
