Job Description

The role of Cook/Chef is a critical position within our childcare centre, responsible for providing nutritious meals and snacks to the children in our care.

We are seeking an experienced Cook/Chef who can create delicious, healthy meals while adhering to strict food safety guidelines.

About the Role
  • Prepare morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea for the children based on a 4-week rotating menu.
  • Ensure that the meals prepared meet the special dietary needs of the children with allergies and cultural preferences.
  • Ensure safe and hygienic storage, handling and preparation of food and drinks.
  • Order food supplies in line with menus.
  • Work with the Centre Director to create and prepare a wholesome menu.
  • Communicate positively with children and staff on a daily basis.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Relevant qualification in hospitality/commercial cookery/nutrition or early childhood education.
  • Previous experience in a similar role desirable.
  • Menu planning and allergy management experiences.
  • Current Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain one.
  • Food Safety Supervisor's Certificate or willingness to obtain one.
  • First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain one.
