Job Title: Financial Crime Specialist

We are seeking an accomplished Financial Crime Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our financial integrity and crime prevention unit, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our clients' financial information.

Our Financial Crime team is responsible for various activities including client screening, risk assessment, transaction monitoring, and alert management. In this role, you will provide direct support to these activities, including the general handling of investigations and escalation procedures.

This requires strong analytical and investigative skills, along with sound judgment to determine the proper course of action. Client risk assessments will be undertaken in real-time, including the identification, evaluation, and escalation of high-risk clients to the relevant authorities.

Alert management involves working independently and managing multiple tasks with attention to detail, including making timely decisions and maintaining records to a high standard.

In addition to your primary responsibilities, you may also contribute to internal reporting and collaborative engagement with other members of our Risk and Compliance team.

Responsibilities:

  • The investigation, assessment, and escalation of daily alerts related to anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing.
  • Customer due diligence, including enhanced due diligence of high-risk customers and ongoing due diligence of our clients.
  • Correspondence management with business stakeholders, including Operations and Front Office teams.
  • Assisting with various projects and initiatives as required.

About You:

  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience in the financial services industry or with a regulatory body.
  • A good working understanding of key financial regulations and requirements, and the ability to apply these in practical scenarios to support compliance.
  • Relevant certifications, such as ACAMS AML Certification, or work experience highly desirable.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Management, Finance, or Law is desirable.
