Rust Software Engineering Lead Position

The primary objective of this role is to create high-quality, well-documented, and thoroughly tested web and API-based applications primarily utilizing Rust programming language.


As a member of our team, you will collaborate closely with the Senior Vice President of Architecture, engineering team, and product team to craft and refine robust, documented, and tested web and API-based applications, develop our growing collection of libraries, establish and enforce best practices for an expanding Rust team, and contribute to green-field projects.


Key Responsibilities
  • Craft and refine hardened, documented, and tested web and API-based applications.
  • Develop our expanding collection of libraries.
  • Establish and enforce best practices for an expanding Rust team.
  • Contribute to green-field projects, focusing on front-end applications written in Rust, utilizing Leptos for WASM and Tailwind for CSS.

Necessary Skills and Qualifications
  • Tech competence is crucial.
  • Passion for communication and collaboration across the business is essential.
  • Solid experience in creating and maintaining web-based and API-based applications ideally in Rust is required.
  • Demonstrate having built non-trivial Rust projects, ideally web-related.
  • Comfortable with Javascript/Typescript.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, both in written and verbal, and collaborate effectively with a remote team.
  • Strong documentation skills and the mindset of untested code being broken.
  • Autonomous, dependable, responsible, and committed.
  • Building front-end Web Assembly applications with a strong preference on Leptos.
  • Machine learning problem-solving experience.
  • Developed for/with AWS Serverless technologies (API Gateway, Lambda, DynamoDB).
  • Deep understanding of data structures and time complexity analysis of algorithms.
  • Extensive experience building high-scale, concurrent systems and measuring throughout.
