About Cancer Immunotherapy Research

School of Biomedical Sciences seeks a researcher to support the bioinformatics program with cancer immunotherapy.

About the Area of Focus

The Cancer Immunotherapy Unit is a multi-disciplinary team aiming to develop novel immunotherapies for cancer patients.

Our research focuses on deciphering complex immunological patterns in data, conducted in collaboration with colleagues from the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre.

About the Opportunity

We are looking for a Research Associate to conduct computational and bioinformatic analyses across several cancer immunology-focused research projects.

This role will involve liaising with fellow researchers at the Cancer Immunotherapy Unit and the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre.

About You

To be successful, you will have:

  • A PhD in a relevant quantitative scientific field such as bioinformatics, physics, statistics, computer science or mathematics
  • Demonstratable strong academic record
  • Advanced skills in a scripting programming language such as R or Python
  • Advanced data analysis, data science or statistical skills in a scientific context
  • Experience with transcriptomics, single cell or spatial data analysis
  • Experience with analysis pipeline development
