What to Expect
The Energy Storage Sales Director will be a key role within Tesla's Utility-scale Business Development and Project Sales team, responsible for establishing and maintaining client relationships and leading pre-contract commercial activities in Western Australia.
Tesla Energy is experiencing immense growth in the Utility and Residential Energy sectors across APAC, driven by market-leading Megapack and Powerwall products, and regional renewable storage targets.
We require an experienced Sales professional to drive growth in the utility energy market and support the expansion of the Megapack and Powerwall market in Western Australia through existing and new client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:- Identify and build sales pipelines in Western Australia's growing utility-scale storage market.
- Lead commercial negotiations for projects with cross-functional teams to create Sales Agreements and Long-Term Service Agreements.
- Support Channel Partners, Certified Installers, and local government engagement for Powerwall channel business growth.
- Assist the Powerwall channel team in discovering new sales channels and segments, with commercial negotiation and contracting expertise.
- Collaborate with policy and business development teams to expand both Megapack and Powerwall markets in the region.
- Maintain internal systems for opportunity details and project information.
- Manage external and internal stakeholder engagement for timely contract close-out.
- Prepare and present deal parameters for executive approvals.
- Implement continuous improvement and best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or Finance (technical background preferred).
- At least 4+ years of commercial experience in B2B projects in the Australian energy sector.
- Expertise in negotiating Sales Agreements for energy-related products and services.
- Strong communication and influencing skills for building working relationships and interacting with Senior Management.
- Able to manage multiple tasks and work streams with flexible time-management and changing priorities.
- Highly driven, comfortable in fast-paced environments, and able to handle ambiguity with a solutions-oriented attitude.
- Personal values and motivations aligned with Tesla's mission.
Estimated salary: AU$120,000 - AU$180,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. This role requires relocation to Western Australia. We are committed to creating a diverse, inclusive environment and welcome applicants from underrepresented groups.
