About This Role

As a senior design leader, you will oversee the work output and performance of a team. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and reviewing the design process from concept to completion.
  • Selecting and briefing consultants to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Ensuring compliance and constructability through effective management.
  • Providing technical guidance and innovative solutions during tender and delivery phases.
  • Reviewing and verifying design documentation to identify discrepancies and resolve issues.
  • Chairing design meetings to drive timely resolution of problems.
  • Collaborating with project teams to align design outcomes with methodology, program, and budget.
  • Liaising with clients to build strong, enduring relationships.

About You

You are a highly skilled professional with exceptional leadership and communication skills. To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • A degree in Engineering (Civil/Structural preferred), Construction Management, or Architecture.
  • At least 5 years' experience in a similar design management position within the construction industry.
  • A proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant building codes, standards, OHS, environmental, and quality systems.
  • Proficiency in Procore, MS Project, Excel, Bluebeam, and PDF editing/mark-up software.
  • Exceptional ability to influence and build trust with stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the capacity to manage multiple projects concurrently.
