Occupational Rehabilitation Specialist

We are seeking experienced professionals in Psychology, Health Sciences or Rehabilitation Counselling or Social Work to join our team as Occupational Rehabilitation Specialists. In this role, you will work with clients who have sustained workplace injuries or illnesses and support them in achieving return to health and return to work outcomes.

Your duties will include case management, developing and implementing injury prevention and workplace education programs, working with employers and employees to address psychosocial barriers to employment, and identifying suitable employment opportunities for workers who have sustained workplace injuries or illnesses.

  • You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Exercise Physiologists, Psychologists, and Rehabilitation Counsellors.
  • You will have the opportunity to work across various schemes, including workers compensation, compulsory third party, life insurance, Comcare, Department of Veteran's Affairs, and employer-funded injury prevention programs.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Health Sciences or Rehabilitation Counselling or Social Work;
  • General or Provisional registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Psychologist or eligibility for Associate or Full membership with Australian Society of Rehabilitation Counsellors (ASORC), or accredited with AASW as a Social Worker;
  • Previous experience working in Occupational Rehabilitation industry would be highly regarded;
  • Fabulous communication skills - there is a lot of getting to know your clients and stakeholders;
  • Compassion and kindness always go a long way as does empathy;
  • It's the kind of career where well-developed time management skills are a must & plus;
  • A current NSW Driver's License and access to own car with comprehensive insurance is a must.
