Regulatory Compliance Manager

This role involves hands-on work, providing a unique opportunity to make an impact on Wise's mission and drive growth as a product and compliance professional.

Your Key Objectives will be:

  • Create and improve products in a compliant and scalable way by deeply understanding regulatory requirements and regulators' expectations around them.
  • Perform regulatory analysis of new products and services, ensuring that related controls are implemented consistently prior to launch.
  • Enable product teams to adopt a risk-based approach in developing products, processes, and controls.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Remaining ahead of regulatory compliance trends and the regulatory agenda in AU/NZ.
  • Identifying and aligning with risk owners and second line of defence on the main regulatory issues and risks in AU/NZ.
  • Presenting these clearly and understandably to wider teams and working collaboratively to define and execute mitigation plans.

Requirements for this position include:

  • Expertise in regulatory compliance, backed by strong knowledge of financial regulation in AU/NZ (including contemporary knowledge of regulatory expectations).
  • Strong communication skills, enabling effective interaction with different audiences (from Product & Engineering teams to external auditors and regulators such as APRA, ASIC, AUSTRAC).
