Senior Project Cost Controller

About the RoleAs a Senior Project Cost Controller, you will play a key role in supporting the Financial Projects Lead. Your primary focus will be on financial reporting, project forecasting, and budgeting across a portfolio of high-value infrastructure projects. You will work closely with project managers, providing cost control advice, financial analysis, and guidance to ensure financial transactions are accurate and timely.
Key Responsibilities- Develop relationships with key finance personnel and liaise on reporting requirements.
- Lead cost control processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and change control.
- Oversee project financial transactions, including invoice receipting, work order tracking, and reporting actual costs.
- Prepare monthly project financial dashboards with detailed analysis and commentary.
- Lead the implementation of new project reporting systems and continuous process improvements.
To excel in this position, you will have a proven track record in financial management, particularly within major infrastructure projects. You bring a detail-oriented approach and the ability to mentor project teams on complex financial matters. Key qualifications and experience include:
- At least 5 years' experience in financial management within major projects.
- Tertiary qualifications in accounting, commerce, or a related discipline.
- Expertise in project financial reporting, budgeting, and stakeholder management.
- Membership or progress towards CPA or equivalent professional accounting certification.
- Government budgeting and reporting experience (desirable).
