About the RoleWe are seeking a Senior Project Cost Controller to support our Financial Projects Lead. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in financial reporting, project forecasting, and budgeting across a portfolio of high-value infrastructure projects.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing relationships with key finance personnel and liaising on reporting requirements.
- Leading cost control processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and change control.
- Overseeing project financial transactions, including invoice receipting, work order tracking, and reporting actual costs.
- Preparing monthly project financial dashboards with detailed analysis and commentary.
- Leading the implementation of new project reporting systems and continuous process improvements.
To excel in this position, you will have a proven track record in financial management, particularly within major infrastructure projects. You will bring a detail-oriented approach and the ability to mentor project teams on complex financial matters. Key qualifications and experience include:
- At least 5 years' experience in financial management within major projects.
- Tertiary qualifications in accounting, commerce, or a related discipline.
- Expertise in project financial reporting, budgeting, and stakeholder management.
- Membership or progress towards CPA or equivalent professional accounting certification.
- Government budgeting and reporting experience (desirable).
