Civil Works Operator

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Civil Works Operator to join our team in the Technical Services - Civil department. As a Civil Works Operator, you will be responsible for performing general construction and maintenance work on the city's infrastructure, including roads, pathways, and drainage systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate various general civil construction plant and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain and repair plant equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Perform general construction and maintenance work on the city's infrastructure, including roads, pathways, and drainage systems.
  • Attend pre-start meetings, toolbox meetings, and training sessions as required.
  • Present a positive image to the general public at all times.

Requirements

  • Experience in the safe operation of various civil construction plant and equipment.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Initiative, adaptability, and effective communication skills.
  • Experience in the usage and handling of construction materials, including limestone, gravel, road base, bitumen products, concrete, drainage pipes, and pits.
  • Sound time management skills.
  • Possession of a current C Class Drivers Licence, Construction Induction Card, and current HR class driver's license.
  • Possession of or ability to obtain a current National Police Certificate.
