Mental Health Psychologist Opportunity

Join a dedicated mental health team in Lismore for a 12-week contract starting in early September.

Deliver evidence-based mental health care to children and adolescents, provide outreach services to hospitals within the district, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to optimise patient outcomes. You will also work towards developing and maintaining a supportive environment that promotes healthy relationships and lifestyles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • ">
  • Provide assessment, intervention, and outreach services for children and adolescents in hospitals and other facilities;">
  • Develop and implement individualised treatment plans based on thorough assessments of patients' needs and circumstances;">
  • Maintain accurate records and reports of client interactions and interventions;">
  • Collaborate with colleagues from various disciplines to achieve shared goals and promote best practices in care delivery; and">
  • Participate in regular peer supervision and ongoing professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.">

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

">
  • ">
  • A postgraduate qualification in psychology (PhD or PsyD);">
  • Full registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a psychologist;">
  • A valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) and current Police Clearance;">
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience in report writing and presentation;">
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and develop effective solutions;">
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;">
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, with strong interpersonal and collaboration skills;">
  • Capacity to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately;">
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines, while maintaining a high level of professionalism and composure under pressure.">
