About NBMLHD

Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD) is a recognised leader in the healthcare industry, providing a range of public health services to the Nepean, Blue Mountains and Lithgow regions. NBMLHD Community Mental Health offers services for children, young people, families and older people, delivered by multidisciplinary health professionals in community-based services and health centres. The role supports a biopsychosocial approach to care and links patients to essential community services.

Responsibilities
  • Provide psychological assessments and interventions for people presenting with mental health issues, in line with recovery principles.
  • Collaborate with consumers, carers and a multidisciplinary team to deliver integrated care and coordinate with disability supports and community services.
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary assessments, therapeutic interventions and discharge planning within a biopsychosocial framework.
  • Deliver care that is patient-centred, integrated, and evidence-based within the community mental health setting.
What you will bring
  • Recognised 4-year tertiary qualification in Psychology and registration with AHPRA
  • Demonstrated experience in psychological assessments and interventions with people presenting with mental health issues
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with consumers and carers with a commitment to recovery principles
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Current driver's license and willingness to use it for work purposes
  • Computer literacy
