Lead Cyber Security Expert

Are you looking to spearhead a transformation program in the cyber space? If so, we invite you to apply for this exciting opportunity as Cyber Security Lead. As part of our Technology & Transformation team, you will play a key role in ensuring the security of all ICT systems and information.

As Cyber Security Lead, you will be responsible for leading the design, development and ongoing improvement of our information security strategy, policies and controls. You will work closely with our Chief Transformation and Technology Officer to ensure the effective implementation of these strategies and manage a small team of employees, contractors and vendors executing core information security functions.

Your expertise and understanding of cyber threats, risks, managing security in a hybrid - on-premise and Azure Cloud - environment, cyber security laws, regulations and industry best practices are essential to ensure council's systems, networks, and data are protected and that the organisation is best positioned to defend and minimise the risk of cyber-attacks.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Building council's information security capability
  • Effectively leading the information security function
  • Creating and driving an information security culture
  • Providing advice and consultancy to all other areas of business on matters related to information security
