About the Data Governance Role

This role is responsible for leading the implementation of Microsoft Purview as our central data governance platform. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of data governance principles and practices, including cataloguing, quality, security, and privacy.

Key responsibilities include configuring and connecting Microsoft Purview across our systems to map, classify, and trace data assets, giving us a clear, governed view of our data landscape.

  • Design and implement data governance frameworks to support trusted, high-quality data and stronger governance outcomes;
  • Collaborate with technical stakeholders and vendors to deliver a smooth rollout of Purview, sharing knowledge, solving problems, and making it stick for the long term;
  • Configure and connect Microsoft Purview across our systems to map, classify, and trace data assets, providing a clear, governed view of our data landscape;
  • Liaise with colleagues and vendors to deliver a smooth, well-supported rollout of Microsoft Purview, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
About You

You are someone who thrives on turning complex data challenges into meaningful solutions that empower others. Your expertise in data governance, technical know-how, and collaborative mindset make you a natural at modernising processes and driving impactful change.

  • Strong technical skills in data engineering and architecture, with hands-on experience deploying and using Microsoft Purview;
  • Confidence in SQL and Python, along with strong knowledge of data-centric tools that support and enhance the Microsoft Purview environment;
  • The ability to communicate clearly and build strong relationships, translating complex data concepts into plain, actionable language for a range of audiences;
  • Experience working with data management tools in Microsoft Azure and familiarity with data profiling and mining techniques to support trusted, high-quality data and stronger governance outcomes.
