Claims Consultant Job Description

We are seeking a Claims Consultant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality claims management services to scheme members.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage statutory claims from determination to finalisation, applying technical expertise on complex claims.
  • Provide timely and effective communication with clients to meet customer service standards.
  • Maintain the claims management system, including claim estimates.
  • Ensure compliance with legislative requirements and ethical standards, liaising with stakeholders as necessary.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years' operational experience preferably in workers compensation related field.
  • Knowledge of the Qld Workers' Compensation and Rehabilitation Act 2003.
  • Demonstrated ability to make decisions, solve problems and establish work priorities, either while working independently or as a member of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively liaise, communicate and negotiate with a wide range of personnel from public and private sectors.
  • Effective computer literacy, including basic skills in MS Excel, Outlook & Word.
  • Proven ability to apply lateral thinking to complex problems and negotiate workable solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
