**Component Reliability and Support Officer Role Overview

Job Description:

This role focuses on enhancing and maintaining the reliability of BTP components through corrective actions from failure analysis, warranty investigations, continuous improvement channels, and providing technical advice and feedback throughout the life cycle of the component.

The successful candidate will manage all warranty claims and costing along with NCR reporting and reworks. They will work closely with customers to establish the cause of failure and collect relevant information.

Key responsibilities include establishing whether warranty will be granted, closing all warranty jobs, improving component rebuilds based on failure analysis, reviewing new product updates relevant to BTP's range of components and service offerings, and presenting recommendations.

Additionally, they will process installation documentation, SOS samples, service reports, post-install maintenance requirements, and outstanding core returns. They will review install forms, failure modes, and condition reports of component core returns, ensure all data, maintenance history, and forms are received for each warranty claim raised, and develop investigation and work scopes in line with the company's DOA specific to individual warranty claims and component condition report requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, applicants should have 5 years' experience in a similar position in the mining and heavy mobile equipment industry. A Cert III Automotive (Plant Mechanic) or Cert III Engineering Mechanical (Mobile Plant Mechanic) qualification is required. Knowledge of Caterpillar earthmoving equipment and component rebuilds is also essential.

Candidates should possess strong communication skills, ability to compose grammatically correct reports, and proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, particularly Word and PowerPoint. Excellent time management and multitasking skills are necessary to achieve required outcomes by collaborating with multiple tiers of the organization.
