Senior Instrumentation Controls Engineer

The role of a Senior Instrumentation Controls Engineer is to work closely with reliability, operations, maintenance, projects, and engineering teams in developing and optimising Reliability Maintenance Plans (RMPs) for the LNG Plant.

  • This role is tasked with the safe and reliable operation of instrumentation, controls, and electrical equipment at the GLNG plant and pipelines.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Initiating, supporting, and reviewing IC&E system changes via Management of Change (MOC); preparing and reviewing related calculations and documents.
  • Supporting IC&E upgrade projects, including vendor queries, design reviews, and HAZOP.
  • Identifying upgrades to address reliability bad actors or obsolete equipment.
  • Reviewing and approving Critical Function Test (CFT) and Safety Function Test (SFT) procedures.
  • Identifying IC&E equipment risks; supporting risk assessments and implementing rectification plans.
  • Identifying and endorsing maintenance strategy optimisation in Reliability Management Plans (RMPs).
  • Reviewing incidents for IC&E equipment reliability risks and improvements.
  • Participating in failure investigations, root cause analyses, audits, and compliance assessments.
  • Managing obsolescence of IC&E equipment.
  • Leading engineering excellence, governance, and safety barrier/performance standards assurance; ensuring functional safety and cybersecurity compliance.
  • Collaborating with vendors and consultants for troubleshooting, maintenance, testing, and upgrades.

The ideal candidate will be degree-qualified in electrical instrumentation engineering and eligible for RPEQ. They should have extensive experience in instrumentation, controls, and electrical engineering in an operations support role in oil and gas, petrochemical, or similar industries.

A key requirement for this role is that you will need to have in place the legal work rights for Australia to apply.
