Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Nurse to join our dynamic team in the General Surgical Ward at Hornsby Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, collaborating with the multi-disciplinary team, and contributing to a positive work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessing patients' physical and emotional needs, developing individualized care plans, and implementing evidence-based interventions.
  • Collaborating with the medical team, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Maintaining accurate and comprehensive patient records, adhering to clinical guidelines, and participating in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Leading by example, mentoring junior staff members, and promoting a culture of professionalism and respect.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated expertise in general surgical nursing, with a strong focus on patient-centered care and safety.
  • Current AHPRA registration as an Enrolled or Registered Nurse.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues and communicate complex information to patients and families.
  • Basic computer skills, with experience using electronic health records and clinical software.
