About the Role

Central Coast Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Traffic and Transport Engineer to join our Development Engineering Section. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical advice and guidance on traffic engineering principles for developments, ensuring that our community's transportation needs are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical advice and guidance on traffic engineering principles for developments
  • Assess and report on traffic and parking matters
  • Design and assess road traffic and intersection designs
  • Prepare complex traffic studies, traffic modeling, and cost estimating for civil engineering works
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to provide innovative solutions for transportation-related projects
Requirements
  • Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Current Class C Driver's Licence
  • Construction General Induction Card
  • Experience in assessing and reporting on traffic and parking matters
  • Experience in road traffic and intersection design, and assessment
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing complex traffic studies, traffic modeling, and cost estimating for civil engineering works
  • Experience working in Local Government
