About the Role:

  • As part of a proactive and integrated research environment, you will work with highly experienced economists, scientists, statisticians, and modellers passionate about exploring the issues faced by Australia's agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sectors.
  • You will be immersed in research to provide evidence and advice that underpins policy and industry decision-making.
  • To extend your skills and knowledge, you will participate in formal and on-the-job training activities designed to guide your career and equip you with the tools to develop as a valuable member of our team.

Key Program Highlights:

  • Our 12-month program includes formal and on-the-job training activities such as writing, presentation, data analytics, and econometric-modelling.
  • You will have the opportunity to participate in ABARES seminars and conferences, including National Outlook and Regional Outlook.
  • We offer workplace rotations in various areas based on your interests, allowing you to experience the breadth of work undertaken by our organisation.

Career Advancement Opportunities:

  • Graduates commence at the APS3 level and progress to the APS4 level part way through the program following their first successful performance review.
  • On satisfactory completion of the program, graduates will have the opportunity to advance to the APS5 level.
