About the Role

The State of Queensland is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer to join our team. As a key member of the Executive Leadership team, you will be responsible for driving the financial direction and oversight of our diverse portfolio of clinical and corporate streams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive financial strategy to ensure the long-term sustainability and growth of our organization.
  • Lead the development and management of our budget, ensuring effective financial risk management and maximization of cash and liquidity.
  • Collaborate with clinical and corporate leaders to identify and support innovative ways to deliver high-quality patient care in a cost-effective manner.
  • Oversee the management of our assets, including property and equipment, to ensure optimal utilization and return on investment.
  • Develop and implement a commercial strategy to drive revenue growth and improve profitability.
  • Lead the procurement function, ensuring effective management of our supply chain and delivery of best value for money.

  • Oversee the management of our funding, health information, and costing services to ensure effective financial management and reporting.

Requirements
  • CA/CPA Finance professional with strong experience as an Executive.
  • Proven track record of driving cultural change and successfully transforming the financial and commercial strategy of a large, complex organization.
  • Excellent activity-based costing knowledge and experience in applying it in a working career.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team to achieve exceptional results.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote and diverse environment, with a commitment to living in Mount Isa or other locations as required.
