Indian Cuisine Chef

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Chef to join our team at Kalavara Indian Restaurant in Browns Plains, Brisbane.
As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality Indian cuisine dishes to our customers.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain knowledge of all recipes, standards, portion sizes, and presentation styles of dishes produced within the kitchen.
- Collaborate with the management team to discuss issues and monitor the preparation and presentation of dishes.
- Ensure effective food rotation, hygiene, and occupational health and safety practices are maintained.
- Contribute to menu planning and preparation, minimizing food wastage and labor costs.
- Work closely with the management team to set daily and weekly production levels for the kitchen.
- Maintain accurate stock levels, understanding their impact on food costs.
- Inspect the freshness and quality of ingredients.
- Supervise and train junior kitchen staff, ensuring they meet the highest standards.
- Prepare curries, sauces, and desserts as required.
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Minimum 2 years of experience post-Certification completion.
- Certification in Commercial Cookery (Cert III or IV)/Diploma.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately.
- Excellent time management skills to meet production schedules.
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
