Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Registered Psychiatric Nurse Grade 2 to join our team at The Alfred. As a key member of our nursing workforce, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and support across various bed-based services.

Your primary focus will be on delivering clinical excellence, ensuring the physical and emotional well-being of our patients, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal outcomes.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a registered nurse to work in a dynamic and challenging environment, offering the chance to develop your skills and expertise in psychiatric nursing.

You will be employed within the Nurse Pool of The Alfred, working across different settings, including acute psychiatric units, residential rehabilitation services, and medical/surgical wards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver direct patient care, focusing on risk assessment, mental state evaluation, and care planning.
  • Consult with patients, carers, family members, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to establish individualized treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Unrestricted registration as a Nurse through the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
  • A strong background in psychiatric nursing, with extensive experience in mental health.
  • An ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered approach.
