Transmission Lineman 3rd Class

Job Overview:

The Transmission Lineman 3rd Class plays a pivotal role in building, maintaining, and repairing overhead transmission lines.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Erects, frames, and replaces poles to ensure safe and efficient power transmission.
  • Operates aerial trucks, digger derricks, and associated equipment with precision and caution.
  • Assists in the construction of transmission and substation facilities, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Works on various structure types of transmission lines at voltages from 69 kV to 500 kV, exercising exceptional attention to detail.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • A minimum age requirement of 18 years.
  • Ability to climb wood poles, steel poles, and lattice steel towers without assistance.
  • Capacity to work at heights up to and above 100 feet, demonstrating unwavering physical stamina.
  • Able to drive all vehicles assigned to the line crew, showcasing excellent driving skills.
Travel Requirements:
  • Must be willing to travel and work away from home, adapting to changing environments.
