Housing Chaplain

The Housing Chaplain is a key member of the team providing holistic care and support to residents and staff within a housing context. This role is responsible for delivering a range of key objectives, including:
- Facilitating a holistic pastoral care program that meets the diverse needs of residents and staff.
- Nurturing a Jesus-centered spirituality that promotes a sense of community and belonging.
- Developing a healthy community through implementing sound community development practices that foster social connections and a sense of purpose.
- Working with volunteers to enhance care and support services within the organization.
As a Chaplain, you will be a member of the Church and Community Engagement team of Churches of Christ, supporting activities aligned with the strategic direction of the organization and consistent with its mission and values.
This full-time position provides chaplaincy services to multiple sites within the Inner Brisbane area, requiring a high level of flexibility and adaptability.
About YouWe are seeking an active and committed Christian who has a demonstrated competence in holistic pastoral care. As a team player with a teachable spirit, you will be able to communicate effectively with others in a variety of contexts. You will be comfortable working alongside people from different faiths, cultures, and lifestyle choices, as well as educational backgrounds.
You will be a caring and positive role model to others, with proven leadership and management skills, and the capacity to deliver outcomes, inspire and motivate teams, and work across organizational boundaries to achieve shared goals.
Requirements- Ability to be endorsed as a Ministering Person with Churches of Christ.
- Certificate IV in Pastoral Care, Chaplaincy, Christian Ministry, or relevant equivalent qualification.
- Current Driver's license and a willingness to travel periodically.
- Demonstrated experience in providing pastoral care, chaplaincy services, or community development at an advanced level.
- Demonstrated ability to function as a servant leader who values all people, including the marginalized.
- Demonstrated ability to model a missional lifestyle and communicate Christian beliefs and convictions within the Australian context.
