About the Role

This position involves planning and delivering engaging and considered individual music lessons to students from Prep to Year 6 as part of our Classroom Instrumental Programs for Years 2 and 3 and assisting in ensembles.

This casual contract requires approximately one and half days per week, commencing at the beginning of Term 1 2025. The role demands availability on Thursdays, with a view to further increasing the load as the program grows.

Key Responsibilities
  • Tertiary Music qualification - Cello
  • Experience teaching within a school music program
  • A proven record of excellence in tutoring and performance skills gained through training or experience
  • A dynamic manner with the ability to relate well to students of all ages and abilities, and to communicate effectively with students, parents and staff
  • Experience in tuition of individual students and small groups within a Classroom Instrumental Programme
  • Availability to participate in rehearsals, concerts and music events
  • Provide Ensemble direction, piano accompaniment and conducting skills will be considered advantageous
  • VIT or Working with Children Check
