About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our team at ENGIE ENERGY MARKETING AUSTRALIA PTY LTD. As a key member of our Global Energy Management & Sales (GEMS) business unit, you will play a critical role in supporting the commercial success of our ANZ business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic legal input into all aspects of our business activities and projects, delivering timely, sound, and pragmatic advice on legal and compliance matters.
  • Support the development of new business and related infrastructure, including green products, gas supply, transportation, and storage agreements.
  • Work closely with front officers to contribute to business objectives through providing first-class legal and regulatory advice relevant for the company's business.
  • Exercise sound professional judgment in identifying issues that need reference to management and/or colleagues, legal experts within the business unit or the group.
  • Advise on legal and related issues as they arise in day-to-day trading/marketing activities, including transaction support, drafting, reviewing, advising on, and negotiating bespoke agreements.
About You
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and ability to build and maintain positive relationships, respecting the opinions of others.
  • Several years' experience as a lawyer in Australia or other suitable common law jurisdiction with significant post-qualification experience in a relevant domain.
  • Substantial transactional experience with top-tier law firms, financial services providers, and/or leading commodities firms.
  • Previous in-house legal experience (including secondments) is advantageous.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to think strategically.
