Alstom, a global leader in the rail industry, is seeking an experienced Global Mobility Strategist to join our Human Resources team.

Your Future Role:

This 12-month fixed contract position will be based in Australia or New Zealand and report directly to the HR Operations Manager. As a Global Mobility Strategist, you will oversee individual employee mobility to these regions, working closely with home and local HR communities. Your expertise will ensure seamless assignment processes from start to finish, as well as providing support for specific country or individual situations.

We're Looking for Someone Who Can:

  • Manage individual files from identification to arrival in country
  • Provide data and cost estimations to managers and HR before expatriation
  • Organise briefing calls with employees, managers, and HR for international transfers
  • Present packages and contracts to international employees, including hypothetical taxes
  • Register expatriates for local plans
  • Coordinate relocation, immigration, and tax processes with external vendors
  • Prepare tri-party agreements for international transfers
  • Offer guidance on international mobility topics to managers and HR
  • Participate in reviewing external suppliers with the Sourcing team
  • Manage external tax advisors for payroll compliance
  • Monitor visa expiry dates and system updates
  • Create an expat guide for new arrivals in Australia and New Zealand
  • Keep track of local market conditions and suggest improvements to our international mobility practices

About You:

  • Prior experience as an HR Generalist is desired
  • Proven expatriate management experience within a multinational organisation
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills
  • Sound influencing and negotiation skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including tact and diplomacy
  • Able to interact with individuals at different levels
  • People-oriented and able to deal with cultural differences
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of various teams
  • Dedicated, self-motivated, and a team player who takes initiative
  • Able to attend calls across different time zones
