The Role

We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer to collaborate with our Newsroom staff and other product and engineering teams. You will be entrusted with the autonomy to conceive and experiment with innovative ideas, working on the entire technology stack: frontend, backend, database, and APIs.

This is a remote opportunity within Australia, allowing you to work on growth-related features and experiments, as well as design and build solutions that prioritize performance, scalability, ease of future development, and code quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Product team to implement growth-related features and experiments.
  • Suggest and prototype product improvements and features aimed at growing our subscriber base.
  • Design and build solutions that prioritize performance, scalability, ease of future development, and code quality.
  • Investigate, debug, and resolve user-reported production issues.
  • Contribute to technology direction.

Requirements

  • Experience with video capabilities is beneficial but not required.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset and desire to work in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
  • At least 2 years of full-stack engineering experience.
  • Experience delivering products working across the stack.
  • Proficiency in Javascript, React, Apollo, and AWS.
