Job Summary:

This role is designed to foster community-based health education, promotion, and prevention activities across the IUIH Network.

The incumbent will work closely with public health teams to develop and deliver key initiatives that support public health priorities.

  • Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Public Health team to drive public health priorities forward
  • Engage with Aboriginal communities to share key health information and encourage healthy choices
  • Identify and utilize existing health promotion materials in programs
  • Distribute health information and program materials, supporting community members to participate in public health activities
  • Establish and maintain relationships with health services, community organizations, and community members
  • Host health promotion days in collaboration with health services and community organizations
  • Promote Community Controlled Health Services and engage community members in health promoting screening initiatives

Requirements

  • Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander male status is mandatory for this position
  • Hold a current C Class Driver's Licence (QLD)
  • Maintain a valid Blue Card
  • Hold a demonstrated history of working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and/or communities
