Teaching Opportunity

The School of Philosophy & Theology at the University of Notre Dame Australia is seeking experienced academics to teach on a sessional basis. We offer a range of programs that explore the Catholic intellectual tradition and its applications in various fields.

  • Philosophy informed by Catholic Theology
  • Catholic Theology informed by Philosophy
  • History of Philosophy
  • Sacramental Theology
  • Moral Theology

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tutorials/lectures to the highest standard, preparing lesson plans and facilitating group discussions.
  • Consult with students on readings, weekly topics, and upcoming assessments.
  • Assist with assessment administration, marking, entering results, and providing feedback.
  • Attend meetings as required by the Course Coordinator/Program Coordinator.
  • Identify students at risk through tutorial attendance recording.

About You:

  • You are supportive of the Objects of Notre Dame as a Catholic University.
  • You are qualified to at least one AQF qualification level higher than the course being taught, or have equivalent professional experience.
  • You have prior teaching experience at the tertiary level with a sound understanding of pedagogical and/or adult learning principles.
  • You can deal effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • You can deliver quality learning and teaching practices in multiple modes, including online delivery.
  • You have demonstrated ability in developing resources/curriculum documents and assessment tasks.
  • You possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to foster collegiality and empathise with students.
  • You can assess priority of tasks, manage workload, and meet deadlines in a busy education environment.
