About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Disability Support Worker to join our team at The Disability Trust. As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional support to individuals with disabilities, empowering them to lead fulfilling and independent lives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver personal care to participants living in our SIL services and individuals in their own homes in the community, including manual handling and use of hoist equipment
  • Prepare and assist with meal preparation, ensuring a safe and healthy environment
  • Administer medication and provide mobility assistance, promoting independence and dignity
  • Support attendance at appointments and community-based events, fostering social connections and community engagement
  • Engage in skill-building activities, both individually and in a group setting, promoting personal growth and development
  • Offer meaningful and active support to enable participants to achieve their goals, prioritizing their needs and preferences

  • A genuine desire to provide high-quality care and support to individuals with disabilities
  • Initiative and drive to work collaboratively with participants and the team, promoting a culture of respect and inclusivity
  • Creativity to promote and support community contribution, empowering participants to reach their full potential
  • A current Driver's Licence and access to a reliable vehicle, ensuring timely and efficient service delivery
  • Demonstrated awareness of disability, including its impact on individuals and communities
  • Availability to work over a 24-hour rotating roster, aligning with our service offerings and meeting the needs of our participants
