Position Title
Senior Project Engineer - Marine Works
Key Qualifications
- Recognized tertiary qualifications in Engineering or a related field.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in major infrastructure projects comparable in scale and complexity to significant initiatives.
- Expertise in marine works or grouting processes.
- Strong grasp of civil and structural engineering principles.
- Proficient in interpreting technical schedules and documentation.
- Solid understanding of contract management.
Core Responsibilities
- Adhere to Webuild Group policies and procedures.
- Promote a safe working environment for all personnel and the public.
- Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to Site Engineers as necessary.
- Integrate environmental considerations into operational methods.
- Implement environmental controls in accordance with management plans.
- Ensure compliance with established plans, procedures, and documentation.
- Develop and manage Construction Method Statements, Inspection and Test Plans, and ensure timely execution of tasks.
- Utilize the latest revision drawings and documentation on-site, in coordination with Document Controllers.
- Report non-conformances and initiate corrective actions promptly.
- Ensure adherence to Hold Points and Witness Points as outlined in the Inspection and Test Plan.
- Coordinate testing in line with approved Inspection and Test Plans.
- Review Quality Records for compliance and maintain accurate documentation.
- Assist in monitoring production progress, labor, and costs against budgets.
- Support the preparation of overall project forecasts.
- Contribute to the development of technical specifications for vendor and subcontractor engagement.
- Oversee the procurement of items and services from vendors and subcontractors.
- Assist in managing subcontract administration, including payments and variations.
- Ensure timely completion of project deliverables.
- Direct community inquiries to the appropriate department.
- Foster relationships with clients and subcontractor representatives.
- Advise construction teams on design changes and buildability issues.
- Identify needs for temporary works and ensure proper verification before use.
- Interpret engineering documents for field personnel.
- Provide technical support to supervisory staff.
- Coordinate the mobilization of personnel, equipment, and materials to the site.
- Participate in the procurement process as needed.
- Prepare variations, including quantity take-offs and pricing.
- Ensure compliance with all design, safety, quality, community, and environmental deliverables.
- Document and report physical progress against the schedule, noting any delays.
- Liaise with client representatives and project teams regarding permits and requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory and engineering standards at all times.
- Accurately record and report day works, variations, and claims to protect the company's financial interests.
- Identify gaps in engineering information and propose solutions through appropriate channels.
- Assist and mentor Site Engineers as needed.
Location
The role is based in a region where construction sites are situated within a National Park, necessitating strict adherence to environmental regulations and practices.
