Nursing Care Specialist

We are seeking a Registered Nurse to provide clinical supervision and coordinate the delivery of safe, effective, and individualised care to our care recipients and their families.
As a Nursing Care Specialist with The Salvation Army Aged Care, you will be responsible for:
- Completing relevant documentation in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care needs of residents.
- Maintaining good clinical records and accurate documentation to ensure legal adequacy and AN-ACC requirements.
- Maintaining appropriate ordering, management, and administration of medications in accordance with policy and procedures.
- Complying with the conditions, amendments, and regulations of related acts, such as the Poisons and Therapeutic Goods Act 1996.
- Liaising with doctors and other health professionals and following directions for administration of medications and treatments in accordance with legislative guidelines.
- Completing necessary reports, care plans, and other documentation required.
About You
To be considered for this role, you should have:
- An understanding, empathy, appreciation, and ability to promote the values and ethos of The Salvation Army.
- Current unrestricted registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency.
- Demonstrated aged care experience, the ability to work as part of a team, and promote education and leadership in aged care.
- Understanding of and commitment to continuous quality improvement.
- Experience in developing care plans.
- An understanding of Aged Care Quality Standards.
- An understanding of AN-ACC.
- Demonstrated organisational and time management skills.
- Demonstrated well-developed computer and documentation skills.
- National NDIS worker screening check.
