We are currently seeking a Senior Associate or Special Counsel to join our Technology, Digital, and Data team in Melbourne. This role will focus on complex privacy and data protection matters for public and private sector clients, with a particular emphasis on frontend IT contracting work.
The Role
You will work closely with our national group of specialized privacy, cyber, and IT lawyers, partners, and consultants to assist clients in achieving their business and policy objectives. Your responsibilities will include general privacy advisory, Spam Act, FOI, cyber advisory, privacy impact assessments, data breach response, and frontend contracting advice.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on a range of intellectually stimulating matters and collaborate with our cyber and technology consulting teams. As a senior lawyer, you will work with both public and private sector clients, leveraging your expertise to deliver high-quality advice and solutions.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years' post-admission experience
- Australia, UK, or NZ qualified
- Strong experience in privacy and data protection law
- Strong technical skills and ability to deliver quality, commercial, and pragmatic advice under pressure
- Strong advice and contract drafting skills
- A strong client focus and demonstrated ability to form enduring relationships with peers, clients, and industry experts
- Strong communication and relationship skills
- Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment
- An interest in and willingness to contribute to business development initiatives
