Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct performance test risk assessments for various projects to understand the need for performance testing.
  • Generate performance test estimates based on the project & effort requirements.
  • Develop detailed performance test plans, test scripts, and workload models based on requirements and design specifications.
  • Implement and maintain performance test automation frameworks and scripts to improve testing efficiency and coverage.
  • Execute performance tests to ensure systems meet performance, scalability, and reliability requirements.
  • Monitor system performance during testing, identifying bottlenecks and potential issues.
  • Develop performance models and simulations to predict system behavior under various loads and conditions.
  • Work closely with development, operations, and quality assurance teams with a shift-left approach integrating performance engineering into CI/CD pipelines to support agility and speed of delivery.
  • Assist in evaluating, selecting, and managing performance testing tools and technologies, ensuring effective utilization.
  • Identify, document, and track performance-related defects, working with development teams to resolve them.

Technical and Professional Qualifications/Skills Required

  • Demonstrate proficiency with different performance engineering tools including JMeter, Blaze Meter, LoadRunner, K6, Gatling, etc.
  • Have experience testing applications and solutions in modern cloud hosted environments (e.g., AWS, Azure or GCP).
  • Experience working with modern DevOps tools and techniques including Jenkins, AzureDevOps, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD. Able to demonstrate proven experience with continuous testing.
  • Work with SDLC management platforms such as JIRA, MicroFocus ALM, Practitest, etc. and leverage integrated tools such as Confluence to exploit continuous test reporting.
  • Experience with monitoring tools like New Relic, Sumo Logic, CloudWatch, Azure Insights etc.
  • Experience in performance testing technologies like SAP, Web Services, ServiceNow, Salesforce is desirable.
  • Experience in conducting risk assessments from a performance testing perspective.
  • Extensive experience working within a Technology function in a large, complex organisation with proven experience leading performance testing projects independently.
  • Highly developed communication skills both written and oral.
  • 5+ Years' experience in Performance Engineering roles & relevant related qualifications.
  • Relevant testing certifications such as Scaled Agile, ISTQB, and Performance Certification are desirable.
